Frequently Asked Questions
ABOUT LIP BLUSHING AND PERMANENT LIP STICK
What do I need to know before my appointment.
The following information is very important. Please read thoroughly!
What is lip blushing?
Lip blushing is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that enhances the natural color, shape, and definition of your lips. Using a small machine and pigment, the procedure creates a soft, tinted effect that can last up to 2–3 years.
Does lip blushing hurt?
Discomfort is minimal. A numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure to ensure your comfort. Most clients describe the sensation as a mild scratching or light pressure.
How long does the procedure take?
The process typically takes 2–2.5 hours, including a consultation, color matching, shaping, and the tattooing process.
What is the healing process like?
Day 1–2: Lips may appear swollen and the color will look more intense.
Day 3–7: Lips may begin to flake and peel as they heal. Avoid picking or peeling to ensure proper healing.
Week 2–4: The color softens and becomes more natural as the pigment settles. Full results are visible after 4–6 weeks.
How long does it last?
No guarantee can be made as to how long lip blushing tattoo results will last, due to each client being unique. Results typically last 2–3 years, depending on factors like skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare. Regular touch-ups can help maintain vibrancy.
Is lip blushing safe?
Yes, when performed by a trained and certified artist, lip blushing is a safe procedure. At Studio C Ink, we adhere to strict hygiene protocols and use high-quality pigments.
Can I wear lipstick after the procedure?
Yes, but it’s best to avoid makeup on or around the lips for at least 10 days post-procedure to allow for proper healing. Once fully healed, you can wear lipstick as desired.
Who is not a good candidate?
Lip blushing may not be suitable if you:
Are pregnant or breastfeeding, have an active cold sore or skin condition near the lips, are prone to severe allergies or have a history of poor healing with tattoos or are taking blood-thinning medications or certain prescription drugs.
How do I choose the color?
Our skilled artists will guide you in selecting a shade that complements your skin tone and personal preferences. Lip blushing aims to enhance your natural color, but we can customize the look to achieve your desired outcome.
What should I do to prepare for my appointment?
Keep your lips hydrated, avoid alcohol and caffeine, and steer clear of blood-thinning medications or supplements. For more detailed preparation instructions, refer to our Pre-Appointment Guide.
Will the results look natural?
Yes! The goal of lip blushing is to create a natural, soft enhancement. The color is customizable and blends seamlessly with your lips to avoid an overdone or harsh look.
